Dog Days

This Story Comes From A Dreamer Like You...

So back home in Portland, OR I worked at a place called the Baghdad Theater where you can have dinner and a movie. In my dream everyone had dogs with them literally everyone in the theater had at least one dog and up to three or four dogs on a leash. I was working concessions and we were very busy tonight and with all the added dogs the whole place was noisy. There was one man in particular that caught my attention. This man had two dogs with him and they both were very excited by all the commotion of the theater. He had a smaller toy like dog and brown lab, and they were getting out of control; they were barking and snapping at the other dogs. This man was getting visibly upset with his dogs and he starts to yell at them and yank on the leashes nearly pulling them off of their feet. This does not stop the dogs from going wild so he drags them out of the theater into the front of the building. I turned to my co worker and said something along the lines of "Wow some people shouldn't own animals" I could see him through the glass doors in front of the theater scolding at his dogs. Then the man reaches down and picks up his smaller barking dog picking it up and smashing it to the ground. I stood there horrified watching from inside the building. His small dog laid broken on the ground bruised and dying. He reached down and picked up the lifeless body of his dog and slammed it to the ground again with no mercy. I am distraught and tears are falling uncontrollably. This man continued the carnage by killing his other dog and many others until there was a literal pile of dead dogs around him. I just remember before I woke up thinking how could someone be so terrible.

The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. The dream dog may also represent someone in your life who exhibits these qualities. Alternatively, to see a dog in your dream indicates a skill that you may have ignored or forgotten. If the dog is vicious and/or growling, then it indicates some inner conflict within yourself. It may also indicate betrayal and untrustworthiness. To see a sick dog in your dream symbolizes a neglected friendship. If the dog is dead or dying, then it means a loss of a good friend or a deterioration of your instincts. Also consider common notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty ("man's best friend") and to be "treated like a dog". To dream that you are feeding a dog means that you are nurturing an old skill or talent. It also implies that you need to put more time and effort into fostering your friendships. If you dream that a dog has puppies, then it refers to your nurturing abilities. Dreaming that you cannot get a dog off your back implies that you are not able to shake someone off your back. Perhaps they are being too overbearing or too dependent on you.

Movie Theater

To dream that you are in a movie theater indicates that you are attempting to protect yourself from your emotions and/or actions. Viewing them on a movie screen projects them onto another person and thus makes those feelings and actions seem more distant. Your subconscious is trying to protect you from experiencing them directly.

Perhaps you have been slacking off and need to pick up the pace. Stop procrastinating. Alternatively, the dream reflects your success.
To dream that you are at your former work suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.

Job

To dream about your current job suggests that you need to work harder or be more effective at work. There may be something or some task that must be done at once. Or the dream may mean you are overworked or preoccupied with work. You need to make time for leisure and relaxation. If you dream that you are still working at your old job, then it suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to a current situation. It may also mean that you are regressing into your comfort zone.

Walking Lucid

This Story Comes From A Dreamer Like You...
I started out my dream walking downtown. The streets were normally busy, cars driving, and people walking up and down the sidewalk.  I round a corner and there is a huge T-Rex standing in the middle of the road, standing and staring at me. I'm in complete shock and awe of this massive 30ft dinosaur; to hear his heavy breathing causes me anxiety. I start to back away slowly but with every step I take back he comes forward with a single giant step. I take off running as fast as I could in the other direction. Running from a T-Rex is impossible his steps shake the ground every step he takes and I can feel him gaining on me. I duck in between two buildings to get out of sight. While running I thought to my self why I'm I running from a dinosaur in down town Boise, ID. That is when I stopped running in my dream and I turned to face this monster chasing me. As I recognized the dream I awoke from my down town dinosaur dream to levitating in my bed. I was watching myself from a third person view like a fly on the wall. I was floating perfectly six inches off of my bed straight and as still as could be. I feel as though I have been watching my self sleep for a few minutes, and then my bedroom door opens up and it is my dad who just walks in. Then without notice I wake up for real.

Runnin' From The Cops

This Story Comes From A Dreamer Like You...
I started out my dream by being chased by the police Through a building. I have no idea what I have done to merit a chase but it is on. I'm running up the flights of stairs and I get to the top and jump into the door at the top of the stairs and it pops open to the wide tar cover roof. I look around and there is no where else to go but across to the next building. I'm running as fast as I can and make the jump to the next roof top which is a ten foot gap. I stumble on the landing and look back to see the police right on my tail; so I turn and keep running. Jumping from building to building the buildings are getting smaller. I'm running along the edge of a two story building and I can see to my right that there is a train yard with train tracks right next to the building. There is a train coming and its coming fast. I keep running and I think I can make to the top of the rushing train. I'm running out of time and the rushing train will soon pass. In the bottom right of my view I can see a radar with me as a white dot and a cluster of red dots closing in on me. The train passes and I jump down into and alleyway that is a labyrinth of passage ways. I'm still running as fast as I can changing direction constantly in the alleyways. I feel as though I have been running forever; the alley then begins to shrink getting more narrow with every step I take. I feel as though I'm going to get stuck in between the walls. As I'm squeezing my way through the tightest point in the alley I break out into an opening and I wake up.

The actions in your dream exemplify how you respond to pressure and cope with fears, stress or various situations. Instead of confronting the situation, you have a tendency to run away and avoid issues that you are uncomfortable with addressing..

In understanding your own dream of being chased, ask yourself who is chasing you so that you can gain a better understanding . What are you running from? Turn around and confront your pursuer and ask them why they are chasing you.

Consider the distance or gap between you and your pursuer. This indicates your closeness to the issue. If the pursuer is gaining on you, then it suggests that the problem is not going to go away. The problem will surround you, until you confront and address it. However, if you are able to widen the gap between your pursuer, then you are able to successfully distance yourself from the problem. In essence, the problem is fading away.

North African Town

This Story Comes From A Dreamer Like You...

This dream takes place in a North African desert type town. I'm dressed as a American civil war type uniform armed with a world war two type rifle. Throughout the dream we are at war but I'm not killing anyone but instead I'm given odd tasks. One of the tasks I was given was to collect sand bags and stack them. Another task was covertly searching buildings in the town for enemies but we never found any. While searching buildings we came across and elderly woman; who we then escorted to safety. I was also tasked with driving a tank through the city. At the end of the dream I was on top of a hill over looking the city and from this vantage point I was able to see the clashing of the two forces fighting for control of the city. On top of this hill I was with the commanding general of my army. When I started the dream I was visibly on the losing side of the battle but now the tides were turning in our favor.

The House That Used To Be Home

This Story comes from a Dreamer like you...
This was a reoccurring dream that started when I was about six years old and I recently had it again about a year ago. It starts out with me walking thru the front door of my childhood home that looks like the house above. The house is dark and empty and I get a very creeped out vibe from the soft subtle background music playing throughout the house. Inside the house is all dark except for a single green glowing box. Naturally I'm drawn to approach this green box and look inside. Inside of the box is a small jack in the box toy. When I'm about to touch the toy I become overwhelmed with fear. This is the same thing that happens through out the house. When I go up stairs I get this spooky feeling of death and the items are more child's toys such as a teddy bear, building blocks, and a toy truck.

Men In Suits

This story comes from a dreamer like you...

This is a dream that has been a reoccurring sometimes every other night for me for the past two weeks. It is the same dream every time. I start out having a drink downtown at my favorite bar; and I can feel someone staring at me. I turn around and I see a man in a suit turn his back to me. I turn back to my drink, finish it, and stand up to leave and hear a rustling of pint glasses behind me. In the dark corner of the bar a group of suited men are siting staring at me but I cant make out what their faces look like.

I walk out the front door and start to walk down the street as I'm walking I fumble around in my pocket for a lighter to light my cigarette. I find a box of matches and strike a light for the cigarette in my mouth. Im walking alone down the cold damp streets in the dark; as I round a corner, the street lights are dim and flickering. I start to hear the sound of my boots squishing the water beneath my feet. Then I hear a second set of shoes off in the distance, a distinct clopping noise of wooden dress shoes hitting the sidewalk at a steady pace. I look over my shoulder to see a figure far down the sidewalk, I watch him for a few seconds, every time he approaches a street light the lamp of light dies. I pick up my pace walking a little faster and I hear more than one set of feet behind me and I look back and these men in suits are close, about two street lights away from me. Im looking back fixating on their faces but every time try to identify these men I wake up and at this point is where I woke up the first time.

In The Woods With Wolves

This Story comes from a Dreamer like you
I have been living out in the woods for what seems to be six months to a year. I have a small cabin that I must have built myself because there is nothing modern to this small cabin. the cabin is very rustic and simple. I leave my cabin and I'm wandering the woods with a club walking around seemingly lost. The woods are illuminated beautifully with the morning sun peaking through the tree tops glimmering golden rays all around. My eyes are drawn to something discreetly hidden by the base of a very large ponderosa tree. It is a small hole in the ground about 2 ft wide, I'm compelled to crawl into this hole. As my shoulders pass through the mouth of the hole the tunnel opens up to a large den full of bones of all sorts. The den is full of sleeping wolves, but the den is a treasure trove full of all sorts of items ranging from gold coins to expensive fur coats. There is a single hole in the roof of the den shining a single ray of light onto a small dagger that was jeweled and lined with gold. I took the dagger from the cave and some miscellaneous items like a fur and some coins.

There seemed to be a grace period before the wolves came for me. The wolves would come to my cabin to taunt me. The wolves would come up and scratch at the front door of my cabin; I could hear them running all around my cabin. They would howl so close it would sound like they were right next to my window. Finally I couldn't take it anymore so I chose to run from them. I ran as fast as I could throwing all the coins out of my pockets in every direction. Then I shed the coat from my shoulders and kept running; I tossed the dagger in the bushes but the wolves were still chasing me.

I'm dodging trees left and right but the wolves are still getting closer and closer. Then I see my friend and his girlfriend who I vaguely remembered seeing in the beginning of my dream. They were standing at the top of a hill packing up their camping stuff; so I decided to run towards them. As I'm running up this hill the wind starts to blow furiously and drowns out my screams for help. I'm yelling at the top of my lungs but they cant hear me.

The wolves start nipping at my legs and it seems like fate that my friends can not help me through this. The wolves are biting my calfs but it doesn't hurt. I keep running and then I wake up.

Witch Way to Run

This story comes from a dreamer like you...

When I was a little girl I had a reoccurring night terror; haunting me almost five days a week. It starts out with myself as a young girl walking alone in the dark towards a body of water. This body of water sat alone under a dark sky surrounded by multiple dark planets. Looking out and up into the sky there was nothing but six or seven lifeless planets rotting away in the dark night sky. Looking down at my bare feet in the dark; I see with every step I take, the ground turns from a hard black dirt to a very fine black sand which is soft as silt in-between my toes. Nearing the lake the water changes from a purple hue reflecting the planets to an infectious black. The transformation starts in the center of the water spreading across the lake like dropping colored dye into a cup of water until the dye completely dominates the water.

I'm surrounded by darkness and I feel a pit in my stomach beginning to bite at my sides as I arrive at the shore of the black water. Looking down into the black water my reflection was there and staring back at me. As I look up from the water; across the lake a tiny shed suddenly emerges from beneath the sand. I can hear the creaking from the wooden boards and the shuffling of the displaced sand falling from the eves of the shed. The shed bares no windows just a single wooden door with vertical boards that contrast the horizontal boards of the walls, and a cast iron handle. All is quiet on the lake as the last few grains of sand fall from the roof of the shed. The iron handle begins to clank; my depth-perception goes from 100 yards across the lake to ten feet in front of the old wooden door. I can see the latch on the handle flipping up and down clanking against the iron bracket on the door frame. Someone or something inside is trying to open the door. The door begins to violently shake and who ever is on the other side begins to pound. I start taking a few steps backward then the door blasts ajar nearly sending the door off of the hinges and out flies this hideous witch.

Dressed in all black with a hooded cap the witch flies across the lake directly at me. She is absolutely horrifying to me; she has the witch like features of her face, long nose, boils and sores. Her face wasn't the main object of my attention though. It was her hands; abnormally large with long fingernails, dirty and covered with sores. As she flew with arms outstretched chasing me around the lake over and over again. She would swoop down at me and try to snatch me up with her large hands. As I was running I could hear her cackle and the nauseating clicking of her fingernails directly behind me. The witch never caught me but I would have this dream over and over all the time as a young girl.

Impending Doom

This dream comes from a contributing fan via email...

I was scared for my life running through a dark old field of red blood; blood was everywhere.  There was an extensive fire up in the sky, flashing lighting rapidly and the air was stale with the death. Blood was dripping from the sky, and spitting flames in every direction. There was absolutely no where to hide. Stuck in an open field; the field had just been harvested leaving no trace of the original crop but the hard clumps of dirt from the plants that had been recently uprooted.
Throughout the sky flew these huge helicopters that are used to transport fifty troops at once. There were no soldiers in these helicopters only the remains of human flesh. The mangled bodies intertwined with each other laying bloody, broken, and bruised. Stacked to the ceiling the bodies moved lifelessly with the pitch of the helicopters. The helicopters are hunting and they are looking for me. The feeling of impending doom overwhelms my heart. I looked to the sky above me and saw nothing but these massive helicopters filled to the brim with bodies; boasting their large whale size under bellies.

I ran for shelter, taking only a small child with me. We found salvation under a tree from the swarm of helicopter blades beating above.

A Major Problem

https://solsticelight.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/pronghorn-antelope-pleistocene-survivors/
My Dream last night was sad and kind of messed up. I was dreaming of being in the out in the desert with my dad outside of Boise and we had guns; so right then you know something is going to die. We were walking through the sagebrush and the sky was dim so it must have been around dusk or dawn. As we're walking we see off in the distance a pack of pronghorn antelope running over the slightly rolling hills. Going out of sight and then shortly again coming back into view. We are looking around intently for this pack to come back into sight, Then they appear very close to us and we can see they are being chased by something. Looks like it could be some dogs chasing this pack of antelope around us. My dad raised his rifle aiming for the dogs, the crack of his rife echoes loud and far across the desert. An antelope crumbles to the ground flopping over its self, its legs go from a full sprint to lifeless in a second. The dogs pay no attention to the fallen food, and they keep chasing like nothing happens. My dad and I both exclaim disappointment for the bad shot.
Then over a hill comes this dirty man in overalls with his young son. I do not remember the faces of these two or what the dirty man in overalls said to me but he told me something. Next thing I know I am walking over a dirt mound with a pistol in my hand. When I come over the top I step effortlessly onto this speeding trailer that is being pulled by the antelope, the antelopes are moving so fast that they are just blurs. But it wasn't the antelope I was there to see, to my immediate right with in a foot of distance was two huge beautiful wolves one white and one black. The white wolf was closest to me and had a neutral expression. It seemed that time was absent, everything was quiet no breathing or anything from the wolf or me. The wolf was in a cage but not a cage that could keep him in, he could jump out when ever he wants but he chose to stay there staring at me.
I felt my arm raise up with the gun, and without a sound the gunfires striking the wolf in the head. There is no flash of the muzzle or graphic nature to the wolf being shot, his head slouches down his eyes dim, his fur coat still white as snow and then he looks at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen and I shoot him again. This time he is completely lifeless. Then I looked over to the black wolf and then I woke up.

What is Happening in Our Heads

Dreams,
https://yourpotentialrevealed.wordpress.com/tag/tarot/

the successions of images that play in our idle minds while we sleep every night.  Some view them as visions into the future or memories of the past. Some cause cold sweats and anxiety bringing along nights of terror holding the occupant's mind a hostage. We all have these sensations when we sleep and no-one knows why. The Sensations are called dreams good or bad we cant stop them from happening. We can dream of being in the most beautiful place we have ever seen in our whole entire lives and when we awake not be able to recall a single detail of what this place looked like. It is estimated the average person forgets around 90% of their dreams over their lifetime.
In this Saga I will be the retelling dreams from multiple sources from interviews, forums, and directly from personal dream Journals. The best person to understand the interpretation of a dream is the dreamer. I will be focusing on pushing the dreamer to understand more about their dream rather than polluting the interpretation with my outside opinion. Dreams give the dreamer direct contact with their subconscious, by using direct references or metaphors to allude to current information usually relevant to a problem or event in the dreamers life.
This blog is meant to connect our subconscious with our conscious; diving into the purpose, story, and realizations behind our deeply rooted messages of our inner minds. What happens when our eyelids meet, when our frontal lobes rest and the inner mind speaks loudly? Is it our brain, recollecting past absorptions? Or our true self reveling our inner most lessons?

There are plentiful theories on this journey we undertake during our livelihoods. Countless dream experts: psychologists, neurologists, scientists have experimented in this field with endless curiosity. Carl Jung spent most of his life on the subject, as did Freud. Hollywood even brought its interpretation of the dreamworld through blockbusters "Inception" and "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind." But, how can we really know? Or how can we ignore it? The swing of certainty might just be the excitement needed for one to investigate it.
In a world that revolves on the art of science, we search frantically for facts. For repetition, meaning and purpose. But, what if it means nothing? With this, we can only observe the qualitative qualities of dreams and appreciate each of our own individual approach to their own psyche.
